Role of a "Government" in fighting Covid-19

This year Corona virus pandemic has hit the whole world very hard. Almost 100 years after the infamous Spanish flu. Many people got infected and the number of people getting infected is rising day by day. No cure has been found for this deadly virus in the hands of which many people lost their dearest ones. The only way to prevent it is to maintain social distancing between people, move out of our home only when it is required to, sanitize our hands on a regular basis.

So in this fearful situation the Government of a particular country should take some steps for the very welfare of the people.

They are like:

1.      To ensure social distancing between people issuing nation lockdown is very important.

2.    Make the people aware of this deadly pandemic and ways to prevent themselves from getting infected.

3.     Installing thermal screening sessions for those who just arrived in the airport. If the cases of covid-19 in that particular country is striking then 14 day isolation camps for those who came from different countries should be established.

4.    Strict rules for lockdown because of the pandemic should be introduced.

5. It is also very important to take care of those who take care of us, the doctors, police and other healthcare service providers. Those who are continuously treating the patients infected should also be provided some facilities. So the govt. should establish isolation places where the doctors can stay safe.

Now these were some of the very first steps that are almost mandatory to fight the Pandemic. But following these rules will arise some problems which should also be tackled. Some steps for those problems are like:

1.      For lack of food: Govt. should try to provide the people (especially the poor) with food grains. It should also try to keep the food grain stores open and allow people to buy by ensuring social distancing.

2.    Postponing those events where mass gathering is seen. Most of them being the final and entrance exams. But this will create a stress on the students, a confusion, a doubt of their very future. So the rescheduling of the exams should be thought of.

3.   Movement of people- Lockdown will have to be lifted in stages and the movement of people will have to be very restricted in the beginning as it could enable a second wave of Covid-19.

4.    Economic  Crisis: We will surely face a economical crisis when the country will be locked down. Indian economy will also suffer.
